Can Halfords dispose of old car tyres?
If you've had your tyres replaced at our local Autocentre, we will take and dispose of them for just £3 per tyre. This allows us to responsibly dispose of your tyres for you. We partner with a leading tyre collector and processor in the UK. They process and repurpose tyres to recycle and reuse them in a variety of products. These include artificial turf infill, playground rubber mulch, carpet underlay and road surfaces.
If you choose not to leave them with us, we recommend you take these to your local council refuse facility and they would be able to deal with them accordingly. You may be charged a £3 fee for this.
For a walk-in appointment, the charge will be removed before you are invoiced. We automatically add the fee for online bookings. When our fitter is changing your tyres, please let them know that you want to keep your tyres and we will process a refund of the fee.
