How is a car warranty different to car insurance?

Car insurance is a legal requirement, whereas a warranty is optional. A car insurance policy is designed to pay out for damage and injuries if your car is involved in an accident or is stolen. Insurance will not pay for repairs caused by mechanical or electrical failure.

A car warranty will not pay for damage caused by an accident, but it will cover the cost for repairs if and when your vehicle develops a mechanical or electrical fault.
