Cycle Repairs FAQs

Can I get an update on my repair?

You’ll receive regular updates and information on the status of your bike service or repair. We’ll send you a text and email when your bike is ready to collect. Your collection date is an estimate, and can sometimes change, particularly if we need to order any parts. We’re working as fast as we can to fix your bike and will let you know as soon as it’s ready.

I have received a voicemail from the store about my repair

One of our Bike Technicians may have called you to discuss a change to the repair work we need to do to your bike. Sometimes we spot problems while we start working on your bike. If this is the case, we’ll call you to let you know about the extra work and provide an estimate to fix it. Don’t worry, we won’t do any extra work on your bike without your agreement.

How long will my repair take?

If your issue is minor, we can often complete it straight away. We aim to complete all services and repairs within five days. While we carry a huge range of bike parts, sometimes we need to order specialist parts, meaning your repair may take a little longer. We’ll always keep you up to date and informed of the progress of your repair or service.

Will I get confirmation when my repair is ready?

Once your repair or service is complete, we’ll send you an email or text message letting you know. One of our local store Bike Technicians may call you too.

What happens if I need parts/work after I have had my initial quote?

If your bike needs a little extra work to get it running smoothly, we’ll contact you first to get your approval. Don’t worry, we won’t carry out any repairs without your consent.

How long is my repair work guaranteed?

All work we do on your bike is guaranteed for 6 months.

How often should I have my bike serviced?

Your bike should have a full service at least once every year to ensure it’s in good running order. If you ride a lot, then you may need a service every 6 months. Our Bike Technicians can provide some advice and guidance if you need it.

What level of training do our colleagues have?

Our Bike Technicians receive professional training from our expert team before they’re allowed to work on your bike. All repairs are double-checked by a trained team member, so you can have complete confidence it’s safe to ride.

Can I leave my bike with you?

Absolutely! Your bike will be safe and sound with us until we’re able to perform our Free Bike Check. As soon as we know what work is required, we’ll be in touch.

What is a free bike check?

During our Free Bike Check, we’ll look over your bike from top to bottom, to identify the level of service you require and any urgent repairs. It should take no more than 15 minutes, and by the end, we’ll be able to provide you with an accurate estimate to get it running smoothly again.

What happens if I haven't received a call when my bike is due for collection?

We'll send you a text and email as soon as your bike is ready to collect. Once you've received a notification it’s time to head to your local Halfords.
