Extended Christmas Returns

All items purchased as a gift between 1st October and 24th December 2023 can be returned until 31st January 2024

Returns

We offer several ways to return items to us but the fastest way to do this is by returning the item(s) to your nearest store. 

If you change your mind about your Halfords purchase within 30 days, you can return to ANY of our 400+ stores. Or, if you bought your item online, you can send back to our distribution centre for a full refund. The item must be unused, clean and in its original packaging.

We also offer the following ways to return your item(s):

In-garage:

For items that are collected at a garage, we do not currently offer exchanges or repairs, so you are only able to return the item for a refund. 

By post:

To return an item by post you'll need to print off a returns note here. All the information you need to fill in the returns form can be found in your invoice. Please try to use the original packaging when sending your items back and ensure it's securely packaged; Halfords cannot be held responsible for any damage during posting.  Attach the returns label which is included in your delivery. 

Make sure you take your parcel to your local Post Office in enough time for it to get to us within 28 days of you receiving your order. Please note returns made by post are at the customer's own expense. However, if the item you are returning is faulty, we'll refund the postage once we've received the item and checked the fault. 

We would also recommend using a trackable service and getting proof of postage. Please keep your proof of postage until we've confirmed your refund has been processed. 

Courier (Home delivery items only/Online orders):

For home delivery items we offer collection service via courier for larger products (such as adult bikes, tool chests, and roof boxes) we offer a courier collection service. A £7 charge applies for this service. To request this service, please click here to contact Customer Services.  

Please note: e-scooters cannot be returned by courier. For returning a faulty e-scooter, please check the product information on the return process. 

Faulty Items

Faulty items will always need to be inspected prior to any refund/exchange being offered - please click here to see information about returning faulty items.

  • Collections require a minimum of two days notice
  • Someone will need to be available to sign at the time of collection. 
  • Collections can only be made Monday - Friday (excluding bank holidays). 
  • The collection will occur between 9am-6pm (we're afraid exact times can't be given). 
  • We can only exchange dash cams, sat navs, DVDs, memory cards, and software if they're faulty or are returned unused with their original seals and wrapping intact. 
  • Don’t forget your proof of purchase. We may need to verify the serial number on your receipt against the serial number on the item being returned.
